In terms of musical variety, Amphi Festival 2012 stands out a mile

Amphi Festival 2012 news keep on coming, and we are very happy, since it’s one of the events we are really looking forward to this summer. Musical diversity gives the extra finishing touches to the superb lineup of the festival. Already announced, The Sisters of Mercy, And One, Eisbrecher, Blutengel, Apoptygma Berzerk, Project Pitchfork, Combichrist, Camouflage, Front Line Assembly, DAF, Mono Inc., Corvus Corax, Nachtmahr, Assemblage 23, Solar Fake, 18 Summers, Coppelius, [:SITD:], Haujobb, Stahlzeit, Seabound, Aesthetic Perfection, A Life Divided, [X]-RX, Tyske Ludder, Whispers in the Shadow, The Other, Eisenfunk, Schoengeist, Lord of the Lost – and many others. Today’s news? Three more acts, and what acts, if we may say so: mind.in.a.box, Love Is Colder than Death and Eklipse – the latter being the name of the seductive quartet, which loves to clothe contemporary pop music and soundtrack elements into a fascinating dress of compelling classic string sounds on our Theater-stage. Without vocals, yet even more emotional and spiced up with an extra portion of sex-appeal, the four ladies interpret songs by Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Hurts, Depeche Mode and many more, cunningly flavored with a magic note of dark-lascivious romanticism, wit and dreamy melancholy.

Also in the news today:  Amphi Festival warmup parties – they are numberless! and great occasions to meet other Amphi enthusiasts, plan your trips and get in the mood for the festival, if need be. Apr-07: Paris, Apr-08: Amstelveen, Apr-14: Brighton, Apr-28: Stuttgart, Apr-28: Thessaloniki, Apr-28: Antwerpen; Apr-28: Karlsruche, May-04: Manchester, May-05:  Northampton, May-09: Wuppertal, May-12: London, May-16: Heidelberg, May-19: Krefeld, May-19: Zuerich, May-19: Vienna, May-24: Duisburg, May-25: Bonn, May-25: Bielefeld, Jun-02: Frankfurt, Jun-02: Essen, Jun-02: Augsburg, Jun-03: Dresden, Jun-09: Bonn, Jun-09: Bremen, Jun-16: Siegen, Jun-21: Oberhausen, Jun-22: Athens, Jun-29: London, Jun-30: Ingolstadt, Jul-20: Cologne.

Conjure One – “Like Ice”: Viva Music Album Review

Tracklist: “Like Ice (Marcus Schoessow Extended Remix)” * “Like Ice (Album Edit)” * “Like Ice (Rampue Remix)” * “Like Ice (Chris B Remix)” * “Like Ice (Marcus Schoessow Edit)” * “Like Ice (Sine Here Remix)” * “Like Ice (Drop’s Distorted Implant)”

Conjure One – “Like Ice”: Viva Music Album Review:

Rhys Fulber, the Canadian-born artist and producer behind Conjure One, releases “Like Ice”, the remix EP, the lead single from the band’s third album, “Exilarch”. Formerly of Front Line Assembly and Delirium, Rhys Fulber proposes in his third, exodus-like nomadism of sound, “Exilarch” a musical rendition of the various travels we need to make between past and present, darkness and light, serenity and disquietude. Packed with no less than seven versions of the song, included the album edit, “Like Ice” is chanted in its various versions covering a wide floor space from dance to distort, from edits to extended versions. The collaborations included in the single release take the best of “Like Ice” and show us the multitude of facets of the track, and, last but not least, predict its unfathomable charm. Overall impressive, and still allowing for minor crevices and hidden valleys of sound, the single pack is a good deal for the listener who wants to rejoice the variety, and also substantial grounds to admire the musical arrangements and the voice of Jaren Cerf.

Leaether Strip – “Untold Stories” Out on Oct-01! Viva Music Album Review

This album has been in my head for many years, and after completing the somewhat aggressive Klutae album “Electro Punks Unite”, I really felt it was time to dig for my roots and to really embrace my melancholic and melodic side more than I have done over the years. The Songs have a very retro electronic sound that most of my listeners knows I love, and on most of the songs you will hear me actually sing like the good boy I also have deep inside. It was a hard job to dig him out.” (Claus Larsen)

Tracklist: Leaether Strip – “Untold Stories – The Melancholic Sessions”: “Reunited with My Bitterness” * “Listen to the Children Pray” * “Blind Man’s Buff” * “Untold Stories” * “True Glory – False Heroes” * “Ever Changing Landscapes” * “Love Is Dead” * “Connubialis” * “Giants” * “I Feel No Shame” * “Silver Mist” * “I Am Him – He Is Me” * “The Queen of the Dusk” * “For the Ones We Lost” | “CD-rom Number One”: “Hate Me 2011” * “Budapaest Noir” * “Unerzaehlte Geschichten feat. Rummelsnuff” * “Leaether Strip and Rummelsnuff – Vollnarkose” * “Reunited with My Bitterness – Club Mix by Psychopomps” * “The End of the Road – Final Words Mix by Front Line Assembly” * “Reunited with My Bitterness – Endless Dark Mix by Why the Misery” * “Listen to the Children Pray – Gospel Mix by Implant” * “Reunited with My Bitterness – Nu retro Rmx by Implant” * “Listen to the Children PrayBitch Slap Mix by Decoded Feedback” * “Listen to the Children PrayRobotiko Rejekto Remix” * “Bonus Track – Reunited with My Bitterness – Deadboy Mix by Decoded Feedback” * “Bonus Track – Reunited with My Bitterness – UCNX Remix

Leaether Strip “Untold Stories – The Melancholic Sessions” – Viva Music Review:

Self-released on Oct-01, the new material from stage and studio veteran Leaether Strip is a must of the season. “I love and need the direct contact with the listeners and sure I know I will not have a big distributor behind me but to have this contact is more important for me than sales, yes it sounds cheesy , but that’s how I feel.” says Claus Larsen, and we have to agree – this is a step that reduces at the same time the tiresome discussions about how much technology brings us together and rips us apart, and the unwanted hiatus that listeners might feel when not being able to be in contact with the artists they cherish.“Untold Stories – The Melancholic Sessions” is an amazing listen, and definitely one of the most creative and intriguing things we are going to listen to until the end of the year. The impression their album gives is one of plenitude and reassurance, with a mist of cockiness and a solid base of imaginative musicianship. A maverick album of sorts, “Untold Stories – The Melancholic Sessions” is, in Claus Larsen‘s own words, retro electro – the concept itself rhymes and slides – so does the album, listen to it and you will be proud to be able to present to your friends one hell of a music find. Kinetik Festival, May 19-23 in Montreal: News!

A non-profit organization founded by a partnership between KAO Production, EBEN Production & [i] Prod to promote the North American Electro-Industrial-Noize scene, Kinetik Productions is proud to bring you back after the success of the last editions, the Kinetik Festival from May 19 to 23 2011 in Montreal, Canada. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this unique experience with some of the best acts of the Electro-Industrial scene performing during those four days!

KINETIK DEFINITION (KINETIC) :

The kinetic energy (also called in the old writings live viva, or sharp force) is the energy which a body because of its movement has. The kinetic energy of a body is equal to work necessary to make pass says it body of the rest to its current rotation and translatory movement.

It is Guillaume d’ Ockham (1280-1349) who introduced, in 1323, the difference between what is called the dynamic movement (that we generate) and the kinetic movement (generated by interactions, of which collisions).*

2010 Album Releases You Want to Listen to

A rich and provocative year, 2010 meant the release of many new albums from the relevant names from the gothic, industrial and electro scenes, but also the discovery of new artists, that come, layer upon layer of sound,  to further enlarge the musical spectrum, reconsider the influences, and at the same time remain under the non-mainstream cone of light.

EXT!ZE (Mainstage)

Since 2007, CYB3ERELLA, CYB3RSLUT, IONIC MATRIX, CYB3ERCORE have released 3 albums and their music is very popular with cosmopolitan clubheads. It is very danceable and includes classical pieces such as samples from Carmina Burana. According to side-line.com: “This band can be the next sensation from the dark cyber electro scene!”.

EXT!ZE was the act closest to the hearts of the cyber-goth audience. They stirred the spirits of young cyber fans, and made them dance frantically to electro beats like no other although it was still early afternoon. Their soundscape is redolent of techno, trance, electro and some industrial as well – what’s there not to like?. The cyberaudience was ecstatic with this single 100% cyber band at AMPHI FESTIVAL. More info on: http://www.myspace.com/ext1ze and http://www.extize.com.
