Inure “This Is the Life” Viva Music Album Review

Tracklist: “This Is the Life (Album Version)” * “This Is the Life (Vogel Remix)” * “This Death (Terrolokaust Remix)” * “This Is the Life (Aesthetic Perfection Remix)” * “This Is the Life (WhiteQube Remix)” * “Le Petit Mort (16volt Remix)” * “This Is the Life (Imperative Reaction Remix)

About Inure – “The Offering” (forthcoming album):

Inure‘s third full length release, “The Offering” wields an even heavier edge than past efforts. With production by Imperative Reaction’s Ted Phelps, Moore has given rise to the band’s most diverse and compelling work to date. Adam Moore‘s vocals weave together the haunted, distant shouts of classic European EBM with the raw aggression of American industrial rock while staunch industrial rhythms fuse with the furious riffs of Adam Vex (Imperative Reaction) on guitar. It’s this fusion that truly sets “The Offering” apart. With special guest appearances from Joe Letz (Combichrist) and Eric Powell (16Volt), “The Offering” grabs hold from the first dissonant note of “This Death” until it releases you to the icy depths of “Cold.” (source: press release)

Album tracklist: “This Death” * “The Call” * “Rapture” * “This Is the Life” * “The Strange” * “All Alone”* “The Offering” * “The Mind Killer” * “So Far Away” * “Cold

Inure “This Is the Life” (digital single) – Viva Music Review:

Out with Metropolis Records one month prior to the release of their third album, “The Offering”, the new single from Inure, entitled “This Is the Life” is a very provocative and appetizing selection of music, one that sets very high expectations from the forthcoming album. With a catchy title and a running order of artists who collaborated for the single remixes that is bound to make you curious, the single is an energetic and danceable industrial rock/electronic compilation. Aesthetic Perfection, Imperative Reaction, Terrolokaust remixes are votes of confidence for the new track and by extension for the new album, and given the fact that the original track is definitely worth more than one listen, it is with these new nuances and statements that other musicians make via the remixes that the true value of the song is highlighted. Imperative Reaction’s remix is possibly the most driven one, while the one crafted by Aesthetic Perfection deepens the darker shades and the symbolism of the track. Of equal perspective are the other remixes as well, with the Vogel one taking you by surprise with just how versatile a track can be. And if the main track of the digital single release is about life, the band thought wise to supplement the compilation with a track which are conversely about death; the preview remix of the forthcoming album song “This Death” with a vicious, penetrating Terrolokaust remix, as well as a renamed version, “Le Petit Mort” by 16volt, with a hoppier beat, but nevertheless proving to be a sound alternative that does justice to the dimensions of the track.

After the preview offered by the single release we are bound to impatiently wait for the album release. Luckily we are one month away from the release date. Enjoy!

Janosch Moldau “In Another World+Second Best”: Viva Music Album Review

Tracklist: “In Another World (Single Version)” * “Second Best (UK Single Version)” * “In Another World (Riot Mix)” * “Second Best (Highlight Mix)” * “Second Best + In Another World (Video by Hendrik Schindler)” * “Second Best Video Re-edit by 2av GmbH

About Janosch Moldau:

Based in the rural area of Southern Germany, over the last years, Janosch Moldau has created an international stir with his berlinesque and glamorous electronic pop sound. Janosch Moldau brings together electronic “plush-rock”, 80ies “synth-wave” and a severe bout of melancholy. “In Another World + Second Best” are the first singles to be released from the forthcoming 2012 album “Lovestar”.

Janosch Moldau – “In Another World + Second Best”: Viva Music Album Review:

Released on Nov-25, the new single from Janosch Moldau is already a hit – a first-week #18 in D.A.C. and #28 in top 100 videos from myvideo.de, the single combines two songs from the forthcoming “Lovestar” (2012, tba) providing single version, remixes, as well as video material in a very appetizing disc.

With a very positive and energetic sound, the opening “In Another World (Single Version)” is at the same time hymn and elegy and compiles a great deal of emotional background in very pertinent composition and vocal exercise. If that is the way “Lovestar” is going to sound like, then we’re already dancing around impatiently until it’s out! And when we thought this was a sort of decoy or bait to get us to like the single, the effervescent and sexy sound of “Second Best (UK Single Version)” lit up and took us to a superior level of sound, really appetizing and glamorous. In the same permanence of good feeling the first remix of the single compilation, namely “In Another World (Riot Mix)” took us where we belong and set us nice and cozy in an ambient of very flavorful sounds, while the second mix, “Second Best (Highlight Mix)” draws with a fluorescent pen in the dark signs and symbols that are at the same time arcane and known to us. Mention should also be made of the video material included in the single release (“Second Best + In Another World (Video by Hendrik Schindler)” * “Second Best Video Re-edit by 2av GmbH”) concludes the journey with very creative and decorous material.

Torul “Partially Untamed”: Viva Music Album Review

Tracklist: “In Whole (Original Mix)” * “Show Me Your City” * “In Whole (Noir Frais Remix)” * “In Whole (Tenek Remix)” * “In Whole (Bacteria Remix)” * “In Whole (Qualiass Stomp Remix)

About Torul:

With their first single “Try“, Torul managed to launch a first club hit in our scene! The former Low Spirit artist delivers a fine mix of synthpop, electronic sounds and techno influences to create an own musical sound! Often compared to acts such as Sono, Mesh or Iris, the band stands for a unique modern pop sound. “Partially Untamed” is the second outtake of their forthcoming album “In Whole” which will be released early December 2011! This double A-side single is limited to 500 physical units and features the massive tunes “In Whole” + “Show me your city“, as well as various remixes in different musical styles! A true must have for all fans of good electronic pop music! Listen and enjoy! (source: press release)

TorulPartially Untamed”: Viva Music Album Review:

Out at Infacted Records this month, Torul’s newest single, an insolent peek into what their next album, “In Whole”, expected for December this year is going to be, shows alongside the album title track the new song “Show Me Your City” and what’s more, great remixes of the core track, including one by Tenek! Torul sounds resplendent and carefree, and is proposing an intriguing musical experience with “In Whole”, one that builds up with each sound and creates a safe haven of harmonies and emotions, a pretty good hiding place if you’re looking for shelter. The refined instrumental course of the track shapes up against a great vocal experience, and the production of the track shows that it is indeed a title worthy of giving its name to an album. Of equal interest are the reworks of the track included in the single release, as well as the new track. The remixes are all topnotch and you cannot actually single out one that catches the attention more than the rest, because they are all intent on keeping the track’s efficient use of melody and transpose it in different musical surroundings, embellishing it as if showing it around in a museum of mirrors, which instead of distorting the song’s reality, put it in different perspectives, and are all pulling out quintessential elements from Torul’s track.

Conjure One – “Like Ice”: Viva Music Album Review

Tracklist: “Like Ice (Marcus Schoessow Extended Remix)” * “Like Ice (Album Edit)” * “Like Ice (Rampue Remix)” * “Like Ice (Chris B Remix)” * “Like Ice (Marcus Schoessow Edit)” * “Like Ice (Sine Here Remix)” * “Like Ice (Drop’s Distorted Implant)”

Conjure One – “Like Ice”: Viva Music Album Review:

Rhys Fulber, the Canadian-born artist and producer behind Conjure One, releases “Like Ice”, the remix EP, the lead single from the band’s third album, “Exilarch”. Formerly of Front Line Assembly and Delirium, Rhys Fulber proposes in his third, exodus-like nomadism of sound, “Exilarch” a musical rendition of the various travels we need to make between past and present, darkness and light, serenity and disquietude. Packed with no less than seven versions of the song, included the album edit, “Like Ice” is chanted in its various versions covering a wide floor space from dance to distort, from edits to extended versions. The collaborations included in the single release take the best of “Like Ice” and show us the multitude of facets of the track, and, last but not least, predict its unfathomable charm. Overall impressive, and still allowing for minor crevices and hidden valleys of sound, the single pack is a good deal for the listener who wants to rejoice the variety, and also substantial grounds to admire the musical arrangements and the voice of Jaren Cerf.

New Ad Inferna Single “eXsangue” Out!

Ad Inferna, who have kept themselves busy all the time, do not lose time and release “eXsangue“, just months away from the release of their “There Is No Cure” 2011 album which we enjoyed immensely and reviewed here. “eXsangue” can be ordered from here and it comes packed with cleverly designed t-shirts (in both women and men possessed packs) which read “I’m Possessed by Ad Inferna and There Is No Cure for That”, signed posters, cards, and of course, the single. “eXsangue”  sounds pretty amazing, and it is no wonder, since it is produced at this very high standard Ad Inferna accustomed us with; and it genuinely enthuses and seduces.

Suicidal Romance “Whisper Goodbye” Out Sep-16! Viva Music Review

Tracklist: “Whisper Goodbye (single edit)” * “”Slave Slave (Die Sektor remix)” * “Whisper Goodbye (CeDigest remix)” * “Whisper Goodbye (Psy’Aviah remix)” * “Whisper Goodbye (Reaxion Guerilla remix)” * “Slave Slave (Incubite remix)” * “Deserving of Our Sadness

Before the release of their third album with Infacted Records Memories behind Closed Curtains”, Suicidal Romance come on September-16 with “Whisper Goodbye” – a digital-only single release. Estonian Dmitry Darling (also of Freakangel) and Viktoria Seimar propose for their new album a lot of expectations, as their killer lineup includes Felix Marc (Frozen Plasma, Diorama), Pete Crane (Shiv-R), VVA (Ad Inferna) and Art (Freakangel). Shortly after the single release “Whisper Goodbye” we will need to wish them happy return for their new album!

Suicidal Romance – “Whisper Goodbye” – Viva Music Album Review:

Suicidal Romance have accustomed their frequent listeners to quality songs; and their forthcoming single is no exception to this hard rule they set for themselves. “Whisper Goodbye” is clearly a good track, well deserving of its being singled out, although we do not yet know what they have in store for their next full-length release. However, as a stand-alone piece, “Whisper Goodbye” matches perfectly the profile of a single release: it is powerful, clearcut, emotional to a large extent and definitely a song you will keep in mind. With its numerous versions, generously included in the single release, including versions from Die Sektor and Psy’Aviah, the song reaches out a lot more than just its single edit, which is clearly open to more than just one interpretation. Out of the four presented on the digital release, “Whisper Goodbye (Reaxion Guerilla remix)” stands out as a favorite, but this is not to mean that the others fail in any aspect – they are different directions that a song assumes once its raw version is put to good work!

Additionally, the single presents two other tracks, previously unreleased if we are to check against the discography of Suicidal Romance, both appealing sound- and voice-wise, namely two remixes of “Slave Slave” and one particularly persuasive “Deserving of Our Sadness”.

All in all, if the digital single release of “Whisper Goodbye” was meant in any way as an appetizer for the forthcoming album “Memories behind Closed Curtains”, it surely opened our appetite – for their music, but also for the universe of what seems, once again, a very good and presentable effort from Suicidal Romance.
