About: With their 6th album called “im mortelle“, the French unclassifiable band unveils an intimate and very personal part of their soul. Their trip into space takes us where the reason ends & where madness begins. Magic, bewitching, disturbing and so sensuous, “im mortelle” won’t leave you indifferent. Release date: 07-Jan 2013 on DSM Records, CD and digital (source: press release).

Ad Inferna – “im mortelle”: Viva Music Album ReviewWith the release of their previous material “Ultimum Ominum” just months away, and with the sharp effect of their “There Is No Cure” still active, Ad Inferna announce new material under the name “im mortelle“: the French word for “immortal” ripped through comes to mind, but also a different spelling of the phrase “I’m mortal” kept in the shell of the same word “immortal“. The album, to be released on 07-Jan 2013 is preceded by the release in early December 2012 of the single “Moira“.

im mortelle” comes with a very specific red thread: the interplay of life and death, with suspensions thereof in immortality and unbornness/pre-existence. A very good material, it comes packed with numerous collaborations which give voice to the anima of Ad Inferna, which, with few but extremely notable exceptions, was kept silent in the works, with a limited set of feminine voices in the spotlight, but as if giving a hint that before life and death come into the equation, our gender is irrelevant, Ad Inferna give a lot of space to feminine voices on the new album. From very early on in the album, and to back this up there is “Eternity Regained” (feat. Melissa Ferlaak), this becomes an obvious reason why you should listen to the good work of Ad Inferna. They whole-heartedly take us on this round trip that starts and ends with “Eternity Regained“, trip in which you will have to shed your clothes and beliefs and join in the continuum of existence. With “Freezing Light” (feat. MyLucina) which undertakes the task of putting into music and word the legend of the ultimate truth found in the Vatican, the beats become a fusion of dark electronica and religious chants, not unlike we have heard before from Ad Inferna, but with an unheard before dynamism and drive. It is not until “Extra Life” that we realized that the sound work of Ad Inferna is indeed the needed link between the rich imagery of the album and the philosophical (or be it, theosophical) context thereof. And if what you mean, after listening to the new lease of life given by “Extra Life“, is to go on a treasure hunt with this album, you need no go too far. “ReBirth” provides another instance where music fuses around a strong core of elegance – and that’s a condition checked when artists such as Ad Inferna meet another multitalented artist such as Annie Bertram, while the ensuing “One Million Miles Away“, with its provocative swirl, takes us to the old Ad Inferna sound, under the wings of which we can feel secure and at the same time exposed to the darkness of the surrounding world. On a more lyrical side, “Equinoxe” (feat. Alina Dunaevskaya), is, not only because of the heartbeats sampled into the track, a sort of heart of the album, heart and hearth, at the same time. And after you listen to the efforts of combating de-humanization captured in “In-Human“, with equal shares of temptations on either side of keeping human on the one hand and communing with the otherworldly, it is high time you listen to “Moira” (Bewitched by Jana Cova). “Moira“, which can in fact be listened to here, although more danceable than the rest of the compilation, in which the philosophical acumen takes control and dons different clothes than previously with Ad Inferna‘s music, is probably – further listens of the album and of course the fans’ feedback will decide that – a center piece in the puzzle of the album, illuminating with its sound, and obscuring with its imagery, but keeping within the bounds of the common theme of what is before life and after death. “Ad Vitam” (feat. Melissa Ferlaak) is profoundly dual with an interplay of optimism and clair-obscur landscapes, which shows the great strides one has to make in order to become alive. Last but not least, the acoustic version of “Eternity Regained” is offered as a bonus track, closing the circle of life opened with the same piece in the album debut.

im mortelle” is not one million miles away (to quote an album track title) from the previous productions of Ad Inferna, and luckily so. Although, due to the diligent choice of topic the album gains a different consistency and changes more often colors, you can still recognize the veins that created Ad Inferna music before, and that’s a definite relief in a musical landscape dominated by change. Not only a very fecund act, but also one with total substance, Ad Inferna will amaze you starting 07-Jan with “im mortelle“. Enjoy!

Just one year after “There Is No Cure”, Ad Inferna plan to release a new album in April 2012, with the working title “Ultimum Ominum”. We had the immense pleasure and privilege to listen to the new album (as a result of an exclusive pre-listening arrangement), and it’s all fantastic. With a sound degrees away from what we last listened from the band, the album provokes a very pertinent and persistent feeling, what is more, the sound is enhanced by the pivotal philosophy narrated through the lyrics. 2011: A Music Year in Review (Viva Music version)

2011 was a great year for our scene. Just a quick roundup of the acts and artists who released new material this year is sufficient to give you an impression, however fleeting, of the great tumult the scene has caused and the important additions 2011 has brought to our playlists. Let us not forget the beautiful events we were invited to attend, and had the pleasure to experience in 2011. We provided detailed footage both under the guise of reviews and photo galleries at Amphi Festival (+), Nordstern Festival (+), and Nocturnal Culture Night (+). In 2012, we intend to attend to more such events and keep you posted on our beautiful and dynamic scene.

As Viva Music we also organized our own events in Bucharest. New Ad Inferna Single “eXsangue” Out!

Ad Inferna, who have kept themselves busy all the time, do not lose time and release “eXsangue“, just months away from the release of their “There Is No Cure” 2011 album which we enjoyed immensely and reviewed here. “eXsangue” can be ordered from here and it comes packed with cleverly designed t-shirts (in both women and men possessed packs) which read “I’m Possessed by Ad Inferna and There Is No Cure for That”, signed posters, cards, and of course, the single. “eXsangue”  sounds pretty amazing, and it is no wonder, since it is produced at this very high standard Ad Inferna accustomed us with; and it genuinely enthuses and seduces.

Suicidal Romance “Whisper Goodbye” Out Sep-16! Viva Music Review

Tracklist: “Whisper Goodbye (single edit)” * “”Slave Slave (Die Sektor remix)” * “Whisper Goodbye (CeDigest remix)” * “Whisper Goodbye (Psy’Aviah remix)” * “Whisper Goodbye (Reaxion Guerilla remix)” * “Slave Slave (Incubite remix)” * “Deserving of Our Sadness

Before the release of their third album with Infacted Records Memories behind Closed Curtains”, Suicidal Romance come on September-16 with “Whisper Goodbye” – a digital-only single release. Estonian Dmitry Darling (also of Freakangel) and Viktoria Seimar propose for their new album a lot of expectations, as their killer lineup includes Felix Marc (Frozen Plasma, Diorama), Pete Crane (Shiv-R), VVA (Ad Inferna) and Art (Freakangel). Shortly after the single release “Whisper Goodbye” we will need to wish them happy return for their new album!

Suicidal Romance – “Whisper Goodbye” – Viva Music Album Review:

Suicidal Romance have accustomed their frequent listeners to quality songs; and their forthcoming single is no exception to this hard rule they set for themselves. “Whisper Goodbye” is clearly a good track, well deserving of its being singled out, although we do not yet know what they have in store for their next full-length release. However, as a stand-alone piece, “Whisper Goodbye” matches perfectly the profile of a single release: it is powerful, clearcut, emotional to a large extent and definitely a song you will keep in mind. With its numerous versions, generously included in the single release, including versions from Die Sektor and Psy’Aviah, the song reaches out a lot more than just its single edit, which is clearly open to more than just one interpretation. Out of the four presented on the digital release, “Whisper Goodbye (Reaxion Guerilla remix)” stands out as a favorite, but this is not to mean that the others fail in any aspect – they are different directions that a song assumes once its raw version is put to good work!

Additionally, the single presents two other tracks, previously unreleased if we are to check against the discography of Suicidal Romance, both appealing sound- and voice-wise, namely two remixes of “Slave Slave” and one particularly persuasive “Deserving of Our Sadness”.

All in all, if the digital single release of “Whisper Goodbye” was meant in any way as an appetizer for the forthcoming album “Memories behind Closed Curtains”, it surely opened our appetite – for their music, but also for the universe of what seems, once again, a very good and presentable effort from Suicidal Romance.

VoA VoXyD from Ad Inferna – the Exclusive Viva Music Interview

We have often spoken, and written about Ad Inferna (as witnessed by the links below). But what we enjoy most, is to listen to Ad Inferna (and we do our share of listening, steadily and thoroughly). Ad Inferna’s VoA VoXyD was so kind to answer our questions for an exclusive interview: the lighter note on which questions flung forth and answers ricocheted back should not fool you though: Ad Inferna means serious business!

How many times a day do you eat? And what?

VoA: Well… I am not really fanatic about hours and plans, so, it really depends on the day of days… And about my food, humans of course (especially their liver, lol).

How many hours do you sleep per week on average?

VoA: There again, it depends on the day, but I am not really a big sleeper, as I am usually very skeptic about my mood on waking up. But, let’s say something like 4/5 hours per night.

Do you party? Where?

VoA: Nope, not anymore, I don’t like people around me and their proximity.

How do you spend your free time?

VoA:  I don’t know the meaning of the words “free time”, not for several years… but except work and making music, I spend my time thinking, worrying, thinking, worrying etc. (more…)

April-26 is the date announced by Nilaihah Records for a new release from Ad Inferna. Eight months after their latest, “DSM“, their new album, entitled “There Is No Cure” goes, according to side-line.com into “much darker and more club-oriented material”. A special appearances from ex-Ashbury Heights Kari Berg and the usual masterful mastering of Vasi Vallis (of Frozen Plasma and Reaper fame) and of Sebastian Komor (Icon of Coil and Komor Kommando member) promise an interesting new album that puts next to the core of new Ad Inferna productions a plethora of remixes from Reaper, Alien Vampire, Inline Sex Terror, Terrolokaust, and others.

Ad Inferna have reached the next level, bringing their typical sound to perfection – and mixer Vasi Vallis has done a verygood job!” –Kolja Trelle aka SOMAN

It’s an extremely interesting album, one of the most entertaining I’ve heard for a long time. It’s rare for songs to work as well in headphones as well as on the dancefloor in a club but these absolutely does. This album must be successful.” – Magnus Kalnins aka COLONY 5

Influenced by themselves, their life, their experiences, their hopes, they don’t even try to copy other bands but created their own, unique sound. This is very rare to find those days, as the copy & paste generation has entered the music market. Ad Inferna‘s tracks have this special mix of feelings. Harsh/Emotional, Violent/Peaceful, Scary/Hopeful. I had the pleasure to prelisten to “There is no cure” and I have to say, that this album was an inspiring experience in many ways for me. More powerful than DSM, more angry than DSM, very club oriented but still very emotional in its own way. I don’t know where the guys take their ideas from but their source of creativity seems to be unfailing. Unique!” – Vasi Vallis aka Frozen
