About Imperative Reaction’s “Surface:

Los Angeles based Imperative Reaction returns with the new single “Surface”. The new single features two new songs and remixes from artists Sebastian Komor, Scandy, Rotersand, Shok and The Pull Out Kings. “Surface” and the b-side “What Is Left To Say” (Club Edit) show Imperative Reaction’s mastermind Ted Phelps further refining his now signature sound. Catchy hooks and driving rhythms blend with intensely personal lyrics and anthem-like choruses, turning “Surface” into a cathartic musical experience and an intriguing hint as to what Imperative Reaction have in store for the next album. Imperative Reaction – “Surface” – Viva Music review:

Surface” is in its raw version a recipe for success. A very upbeat, high energy track, it brings out a new gust of creative power from Imperative Reaction. A well-rounded, powerful track released the year the band celebrate their first 15 years, it is also the first single release from the forthcoming, homonymous album from Imperative Reaction scheduled for September, 13! The forthcoming album is in Ted Phelps’s words, “our defining album”, and it showcases an evolved sound, that combines the band’s explosive live show with the precise, electronic anthems Imperative Reaction have built a name on. “Surface” is indeed a great teaser and an awesome preview, and so are the single’s remixes and versions from the single release.
