Amphi Festival 2012 – Great News Keep on Coming

July 21&22 next year are going to be some busy days! Amphi Festival organizers announce the great news for their 8th edition; the open-air venue of Cologne’s Tanzbrunnen will be taken over by more than 40 acts on three stages. Add to that the merchant galleries, the beach club and the cafe’s, and you get the picture.

Will the 8th edition be again sold-out? Chances are the answer to that question is YES, since all three past editions were sold-out successes. If you take into account the forming lineup, chances become clearer and clearer: The Sisters of Mercy, And One, Eisbrecher, Project Pitchfork, Combichrist, Camouflage, Front Line Assembly, DAF, Mono Inc., Corvus Corax, Nachtmahr, but also 18 Summers, Coppelius, [X]-RX, [:SITD:], Solar Fake, Haujobb, Assemblage 23, Seabound, Tyske Ludder, Whispers in the Shadow, Eisenfunk, Schoengeist, Lord of the Lost – we wouldn’t have written all the names announced so far if they weren’t – all – so great!

The 5+1 ticket package is soon to be sold-out, so hurry up if you’re going to travel with a group of friends to the festival. Other than that, tickets are sold in regular premises such as Eventim offices, but also online on the dedicated page of the Amphi festival site (http://amphi-festival.de/tickets) and on Protain web page (http://protain-ticket.de). As always, you can keep yourselves up to date with festival info by checking the festival official page and the festival Facebook page.

Klangstabil – the Exclusive Viva Music Interview!

Meeting Boris May in person is like taking a deeper look into a mirror and seeing exactly what you want to see. Add to that 3 Klangstabil live concerts – at Nordstern Festival, Amphi Festival and at Nocturnal Culture Night! Klangstabil can rock your world easily if you are attending their concert well prepared to play along and match the energy and subliminal messages on stage. And yes, Klangstabil sounds very different live compared to their CD’s. The quiet, polite, sensitive and intelligent persons you meet in real life become “wild children of any revolution” on stage. And somehow the 2 personalities blend together perfectly. Boris May and Maurizio Blanco are fighting for a better world, starting with themselves. Add to that the fact that not only their personalities are complementary, but even their names stand as symbols of a perfect duality: B. M. and M. B.

The answer to the question: “Is this world perfectible or we should better just live in our own world where everything supports my inner peace” may find an answer today. Enjoy this great interview!

VIVA MUSIC: It is always a pleasure to meet polyglot artists. You sing in German, English and Italian. Still, the feeling one gets while watching you on stage is that the language itself as means of communication is irrelevant. We felt we could understand the language of anger and emotion even when you were playing in German (a language we don’t speak)…

KLANGSTABIL: Our music conveys emotions without filtering them, so you can easily comprehend them. Voice serves as an additional instrument, and we choose language according to its phonetic properties. Italian, for instance, is a very powerful language that can be experienced in a very passionate way. Within only one verse it can switch from inner turmoil to highest happiness and, by doing so, capture the audience. (more…)

Just a few weeks ago we shared the experience of celebrating the 7th Amphi Festival together at the Tanzbrunnen Cologne. 16.000 attendants from all over the world turned that incredible weekend into THE event of the dark festival summer! Unfortunately this summer turned out to be much darker than usual, with almost no festival passing along without at least one major rainstorm. And the Amphi had not been spared though. Thanks to its solid pavement, the rain sheltered main stage, the additional program at the Theater stage and the newly introduced festival café at the Staatenhaus, it had proven capable again to offer an uncompromised festival experience, even while St. Peter opened up his flood gates! Project Pitchfork Offers “First Anthology” as a 2 Cd Set

After coming to DARKWAVE.RO FEST, there are more good news for PROJECT PITCHFORK fans: Side-Line announces that the band will release by March 25 on Trisol a 2 CD set anthology. “First Anthology” will include tracks from the first ten years of their musical career. The anthology has a total of 31 tracks, with songs from PROJECT PITCHFORK‘s early epoch to the founding of their label, Candyland Entertainment, till they signed with the major company East West.

Project Pitchfork rocked at DARKWAVE.RO FEST with songs from their early career, when RAMMSTEIN would be an opening act of PROJECT PITCHFORK, as well as from more recent times, when frontman Peter Spilles launched the successful SANTA HATES YOU and IMATEM. DARKWAVE.RO FEST also brought RABIA SORDA, TENEK and DJ LUCA EW to the Romanian crowd, a fest that “welded together different fandoms into a unique, tumultuous crowd”.

First Anthology” is also available as a special edition limited to 2000 copies. The set comes as an 8-panel digipak in special 7″-format with an extra-booklet including a bio and a large picture gallery from Peter Spilles’ private archive.

Darkwave.ro Fest 3 review (with photos) – Dj Luca Ew, Tenek, Rabia Sorda and Project Pitchfork – January 29, 2011

Darkwave.ro Fest 3 (PROJECT PITCHFORK, RABIA SORDA and TENEK live in Cage Club, on January 29, organized by VIVA MUSIC with CLICKNET ROMTELECOM as main partner) came and went with a blast. The only local festival devoted to dark, electro, aggrotech and industrial music in Romania offered for its third edition a generous display of art for art’s sake and genuine musical feeling. Cage Club, unfortunately on its last active day, closed late in the night with a unique fest that welded together different fandoms into a unique, tumultuous crowd.

By 09:00 pm, the official doors open time, people started crowding the club’s venue. Electroheads, Goths dressed up to the nines and even the club’s regular rock scene flowed in and enjoyed DJ LUCA EW’s opening set that mimetized topnotch the evolving’s crowd feelings and will to dance. COVENANT, MIND.IN.A.BOX, but also AND ONE, FADERHEAD and APOPTYGMA BERZERK produced sonic atmosphere and opened the appetite of the audience from Romania, Germany, Great Britain,  Finland – to name just a few of the countries that visited VIVA MUSIC’s fest.

2010 Album Releases You Want to Listen to

A rich and provocative year, 2010 meant the release of many new albums from the relevant names from the gothic, industrial and electro scenes, but also the discovery of new artists, that come, layer upon layer of sound,  to further enlarge the musical spectrum, reconsider the influences, and at the same time remain under the non-mainstream cone of light.
