VIVA MUSIC proudly presents the success of yet another event, COMBICHRIST + MORTIIS live at The Silver Church, on March 1st, 2011. A frantic crowd, a very energetic and invigorating sound, plus a unique experience for both artists and audience: these are the words we’d use to sum up the ploy COMBICHRIST and MORTIIS put up in order to prompt the emotions of their audience into the right corner of the heart.

The event was preceded by an escalating reputation – numerous publications, radio stations, internet communities and sites propagated the news of a performance filled with excitement and expectations: and in effect, the show was not disappointing at all! If you add the many Twitter and Facebook shares (estimated: over 2,000) to the concert related news, info, videos and reviews, you talk about the event that broke ground on the music scene of Bucharest – an event that ignited, inspired and elevated a curious, educated and hip audience of electroheads, Goths, rockers, and the regular club-goers – a wonderful audience whom we feel we could never thank enough.

MORTIIS’s concert lasted a head-spinning 45 minutes, in which they delighted their audience with a gravity-defying scenic tour of their work. Although consecrated tracks of their impressive discography were not given live greenlight, their setlist tuned to the audience’s thirst of quality music made in Norway.

Viva Music took the third step in mak­ing the dark gothic.industrial.synth music known to the Roman­ian audi­ence on Sun­day, December 26, 2010. Our dear friend and sup­porter, Lau­ren­tiu Rusen (thank you, Laur!), Vivi and Adara were guests of the extremely pop­u­lar “A la chart de week-end”, with Bog­dan Crutescu show on Radio Bucuresti (98.3 FM) for the third time.

We are grate­ful to Bog­dan Crutescu for his invi­ta­tion, and we appre­ci­ate his support. It looks like he is turning into an electrohead himself! He favourited Aesthetic Perfection today, namely “The Siren”. We played “The Ones” from the same album – “A Violent Emotion” – on a previous show, so it is great to see Bogdan has already picked a favorite band!

VIVA MUSIC solely pro­motes qual­ity electro.dark.industrial.Goth.synth music in Romania. Four acts who call the shots on the electro/goth scene (SLAVE REPUBLIC, PAINBASTARD, DESTROID and FRANK THE BAPTIST) will fire up KULTURHAUS until dawn! From syn­th­pop to harsh indus­trial, and giv­ing equal and undi­vided atten­tion to deathrock and elec­tro, the four acts will tres­pass the bounds of con­ven­tion­al­ism and teach main­stream music a les­son.

Alex P’s project PAINBASTARD soon celebrates its 10^th year. In 2010, the release of “Kriegserlkaerung”, the act’s fifth album means a great deal of social criticism and lucid look at current affairs, all geared with great electronica.

The album debuts simply and concisely with an intro entitled “Rebellion des Gewissens” (“The Rebellion of the Conscience”). The powerful speech sample from “The Great Dictator” sounds historical, and it is antagonized by very melodious electronic sound, in a way that announces the calm before the storm. “BCM” (BCM stands for binary code message) and “Widerstand” mark the boiling point of full sound, great tempo and very good lyrics about social conscience put in soundscape, and about how terrifyingly all this fits into nowadays world’s optics. “Seele in Not” (“Soul in Need”) further deepens this feeling, creating harmonies in disorder. A fast-paced “War Never Changes” is next: similar in intent to an energy drink and makes up for a great club anthem. The same anthem quality is visible in “Silent Death”, just before the album title track, “Kriegserklaerung” erupts. Robotic alerts are interspersed with quotes from Shakespeare, all covered up by hypnotic beats. “Don’t Wake Me Up” is more concise, but with great club potential, just like all the other ensuing tracks: the Janus-faced, suave & potent “Invisible”, the computer-game like, interactive “Seek & Destroy”, or the coprolalia of “F*** U All!”. A great duo with Torsten B., “Klare Worte” gives extra value to the album, and creatively works with the feeling that oozes from the entire album, just before the outro “Strom des Zorns” does really what it says, showing the full blast power of wrath.

Proiectul PAINBASTARD al lui Alex P sarbatoreste zilele acestea zece ani de activitate. In 2010, lansarea celui de-al cincilea album, “Kriegserlkaerung”, inseamna o doza mare de critica sociala si o privire lucida asupra starii actuale, totul asamblat intr-un sunet electronic de calitate.

Albumul debuteaza simplu si concis cu un intro intitulat “Rebellion des Gewissens” (“Revolta constiintei”). Sample-urile covarsitoare din “The Great Dictator” dau un sunet istoric, antagonizat de muzica electronica melodioasa, anuntand calmul de dinaintea furtunii. “BCM” (BCM inseamna mesaj in limbaj binar) si “Widerstand” marcheaza punctual de fierbere al sunetului deplin, tempo-ului de calitate si versurilor foarte bune despre constiinta sociala pusa in fundal sonor si despre cat de inspaimantator totul se potriveste in optica lumii de azi. “Seele in Not” (“Suflet aflat in nevoie”) adanceste acest sentiment, creand armonie in dezordine. Urmeaza ritmul alert adus de “War Never Changes”: cu intentii similare unei bauturi energizante si poate fi numit un imn de club. Aceeasi calitate de imn este vizibila in “Silent Death”, chiar inainte ca melodia care da titlul albumului, “Kriegserklaerung” sa erupa. Alerte robotice se intretai cu citate din Shakespeare, totul fiind acoperit de un beat hypnotic. “Don’t Wake Me Up” este mai concise, dar cu mult potential de club, la fel ca si melodiile care urmeaza: duala, suava & potenta “Invisible”, “Seek & Destroy” cu sunetul sau de joc interactiv pe computer, sau coprolalia din “F*** U All!”. Un duo fascinant cu Torsten B., “Klare Worte” da plus-valoare intregului album, lucrand in mod creative cu sentimentul care reiese din intregul album, inainte ca outro-ul “Strom des Zorns” sa faca exact ce spune, aratand puterea nestapanita a maniei.

The Autumn Ball Festival with Oomph! this Friday in Hannover!!

As the wind whistles its melody, driving the autumn leaves off the trees, a new musical blockbuster event is coming to you at the Capitol Hannover. In tune with the season, the AUTUMN BALL FESTIVAL 2010 on 22. October 2010 is literally going to blow your mind with the perfect line-up for a stormy autumn night:

Together with the electro-rockers OOMPH! from Wolfsburg, who signed in as headliners, nobody less than the “devil” himself announced his appearance, just about to twist you around with his irresistible TANZWUT. In the eye of the storm, ideal for an evening with red wine and candle light, QNTAL are adding an extra amount of dark mediaeval romanticism, warming you from the icy breath of the German horror-rockers DER FLUCH (The Grudge). Marking the final entry to the line-up, STAUBKIND from Berlin are going to open the circle, sending a fresh breeze of gothic rock through the Capitol, while the aftershow party is going to round up this rousing ball night in Hannover.

-VULTURE INDUSTRIES a lansat acum o saptamana cel de-al doilea album iar trupetii sunt primii avantgardisti Metal norvegieni ce pasesc in Romania. Nu ne crezi? Citeste ce ne spune Bjornar plus o piesa audio de pe noul material.

-THE VISION BLEAK sunt cei mai adevarati Gothic Horror Metalisti din Europa. Am stat de vorba chiar cu cel ce a infiintat acum multi ani EMPYRIUM si acum reprezinta acest grup german, Markus.

-NIGHTINGALE sau mai bine spus Dan Swano, un muzician genial si un sunetist de exceptie, prin mainile caruia s-au format trupe de succes (OPETH, KATATONIA…), vine sa se intalneasca cu fanii, un eveniment rarisim chiar si pentru el. A fost extraordinar de greu sa-l scoatem din barlogul lui numit studio si sa vina la noi, pentru noi, mai ales ca ne va canta in premiera si cateva piese din legendarul EDGE OF SANITY. Convinge-te si tu, ca pe noi ne-au cucerit raspunsurile suedezului.

-SHINING vine pregatita pentru un concert deosebit! Cei cinci suedezi sunt hotarati sa faca un show mult mai incisiv dar si mai atractiv decat anul trecut, si sa ne arate daca Suicidal Black Metal-ul are sau nu limite stilistice, repere sau clisee standard, mai ales ca vor canta in premiera atat piese de pe urmatorul album, cat si altele vechi, neascultate in concert. Niklas nuanteaza dar si confuzeaza in discutia avuta… noi am privit-o insa ca pe o provocare si nu ca pe o ieftina catalogare.

Dupa ultimul recital, nu trebuie sa pleci acasa; poti sta pana dimineata de vorba cu fiecare trupa, cu fiecare muzician sau sa-ti povestesti impresiile cu prietenii…iar pe ecranele din club vor fi difuzate inregistrarile video ale concertelor AGALLOCH si ALCEST sustinute in aceasta primavara aici. Va fi si unica data cand publicul va avea acces la aceste filmari!

Sa fie mult? Sau poate prea putin? E libertatea ta sa apreciezi daca merita sa ni te alaturi. Asta e ceea ce iti propunem noi iar trupele sunt nerabdatoare sa-ti prezinte… un format special, unicat, civilizat, frumos, de neuitat: O Seara Labirintica, O Noapte Metal!
