ORDO ROSARIUS EQUILIBRIO este trupa longeviva care, in cei peste 15 ani de activitate, a realizat multe albume remarcabile, suedezii devenind emblema reprezentativa a casei de discuri COLD MEAT INDUSTRY. A venit insa timpul pentru o schimbare si iata ca Tomas Pettersson, liderul trupei, a acceptat oferta gigantului Out Of Line Records, pentru a lansa, nu peste mult timp, cel mai lucrat si inspirat album din istorie, “Songs 4 Hate & Devotion”.

O.R.E. s-a simtit foarte bine in Romania, concertele din 2008 de la Brasov (http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=102510297) si din 2009 in Bucuresti (http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=102533820) fiind importante atat pentru fani, cat si pentru trupa sau organizatori.

In consecinta, DonisArt a agreat cu trupa ca, in cadrul Experimental Friday II, O.R.E. sa prezinte prietenilor vechi si noi cele mai reprezentative piese din intreaga istorie alaturi de altele noi, in premiera, in Seara Speciala “A Night 4 Hate & Devotion”… si se spera ca si noul CD sa fie disponibil tot atunci!

Tomas si Rose-Marie vor veni cu o componenta usor schimbata, cele doua chitari live adaugate (Fredrik si Ronnie) urmand sa degaje o expresivitate semnificativa sunetului si, implicit, o dinamica aparte scenica. Fredrik ramane acelasi baterist ce nu se dezminte, el fiind cel care mentine ritmul unui Apocayptic Pop greu de confundat atat in studio, cat si pe scena.

Dupa concertul propriu-zis, trupetii vor petrece intreaga noapte impreuna cu prietenii Serii Speciale, cvintetul venind special din Suedia la Bucuresti.

Evenimentul va fi gazduit de clubul Kulturhaus (fostul Twice), cu incepere de la ora 20.00. Pretul unui bilet este de 50 lei (www.eventim.ro) iar cei prezenti vor avea parte si de alte surprize placute si incitante…

EXPERIMENTAL FRIDAY II by DonisArt

ORDO ROSARIUS EQUILIBRIO is a long lived band who, during their 15 years of intense activity, has created a lot of remarkable albums. Therefore, the Swedes became the landmark of the label COLD MEAT INDUSTRY. It was time for a change, though, so front man Tomas Pettersson, accepted the offer of the big Out of Line Records for the releasing, in a short while, of their mostly crafted and visional album up to date – “Songs 4 Hate & Devotion”.

O.R.E. had a great time in Romania, their concerts in 2008 in Brasov

being very important to fans, as well as to the band and the organization crew.

Therefore, DonisArt agreed with the band that, during Experimental Friday II, O.R.E. will be presenting to old and new friends the most representative tracks from the history of the band alongside the new ones, in premiere on the Special Evening “A Night 4 Hate & Devotion”… and we all hope for the new CD being available!

Tomas and Rose-Marie will be joining us in a slightly different formula – the two live guitars (Fredrik and Ronnie) shall add a significant expressivity to the sound and, implicitly a special dynamics to the performance. Frederik remains the same good old drummer, his job being to maintain the Apocalyptic Pop beat, one that is very hard to be mistaken in the studio, and aslo on stage.

After the concert, the band will spend an entire evening with the friends of the Special Evenings as the five pieces is coming exclusively from Sweden to Bucharest.

The event will take place in Kulturhaus, starting from 8 pm. The ticket price is 50 lei (www.eventim.ro) and those present will also enjoy some exciting and pleasant surprises.

When this year’s festival came to an end, we immediately started preparations for Blackfield 2011 – since such a festival is a lot of work especially if it does include two festivals we need to organise and prepare. You got that right: Two festivals!

After three years in the Ruhr area, the whole team is extremely happy to announce a second festival location:

Amphitheater Gelsenkirchen (Ruhr area)
Burg Querfurt (Saale area in Saxony-Anhalt)

From the very beginning we had the idea of putting on a second Blackfield Festival. However, we felt that we needed to present you with something very special since the Amphitheater Gelsenkirchen already is the perfect venue– hard to top in terms of charisma, quality, and local conditions. So any other venue would also have to be equally distinctive to be an excellent match for the Amphitheater.

Querfurt castle fully corresponds to these criteria and thus is a great festival venue. It is the biggest castle in Central Germany and its majestic shape can be seen from a long distance. Next year we and the local team at Querfurt will offer two well-organised, yet familiar and relaxed festivals, with a stunning line-up.

Next year’s line-up is going to be a manifesto for each “black soul“ no matter if you like electro or guitar music– we will definitely offer you a well-balanced mix of both and are happy to announce the first confirmed artists:

APOPTYGMA BERZERK

DREADFUL SHADOWS (only in Querfurt)

It is our first priority to have the same bands perform in both venues. However, slight differences due to scheduling difficulties cannot be avoided. The DREADFUL SHADOWS –who will only play in Querfurt– exemplify this but are at the same time one of our festival highlights. The band around Sven Friedrich (Zeraphine, Solar Fake) did a great performance at the first Blackfield Festival in Gelsenkirchen and will certainly leave a lasting impression on the audience in Querfurt.

Unfortunately, SONO were not able to make it on stage in time at the last Blackfield festival and thus were forced to cancel their gig. In 2011 the band will make up for last year by playing at both venues, Querfurt and Gelsenkirchen.

Another highlight for the “black-hearted” are APOPTYGMA BERZERK from Norway, an internationally renowned band, that has both seized the hearts of the people and also gained chart positions with their electronic rock and live performances that send shivers down your spine.

Mes Quins: Electrogerman: first album coming up in late fall

The synthpop/post-punk/pop Romanian band MES QUINS is no longer unusual on the Romanian music scene. For almost 3 years now, the quartet consisting of charismatic front man Silviu Gherman (vocals, lyrics, keyboards), Ovidiu Chihaia (guitar, backing vocals, keyboards), Ovidiu Rusu (drum pad) and Gina Teslaru (bass), has been playing live in most of the underground Romanian clubs, sharing the stage with bands such as Namosh, Handsome Furs, Noblesse Oblige and Kissogram.

The time for their first studio album has come, and the Romanian alternative scene is looking forward to getting their hands on the material! “Electrogerman” is self produced, but mastered and mixed by the gifted artist Dan Serbanescu (Divine Muzak, Pixels).

MES QUINS revealed some inside information about the making of the album to our colleague, Ina: “It will be an extremely eclectic material, with post-punk, synthpop and occasionally pop vibes. We had no intention to create a conceptual album, therefore all songs and lyrics are different, unlike one another. We know for sure that if we don’t come up with something sexy, the record won’t sell” added Gherman smiling.

If you haven’t had the chance to see MES QUINS live or if you haven’t yet watched their extravagant video of “In The Land Of The Dead” on MTV, just think of a combination of Deus, Kraftwerk, Grandaddy and Jean Michel Jarre, the artists who influenced the band, and you’ll get an idea of their electric and catchy sound.

“Electrogerman” features 10 tracks, including the radio hit “Printeso” and will be released in limited edition (only a few hundred copies) and online. Along with the launch party, the album will be supported by a series of concerts in the most important Romanian cities and other countries, since the band simply “loves playing live”. On this occasion, their dream of sharing the stage with Stereo Total may also come true. We wish them good luck!

Killing Joke: Absolute Dissent: to be released on September 27th

On their 30^th anniversary, Killing Joke delight their fans with the release of a new ingenious material, “Absolute Dissent”, on Spinefarm Records UK, put together in London, Spain & Prague. The album features 12 tracks, entirely produced by the band themselves and engineered & mixed by Clive Goddard. “Absolute Dissent” will be available worldwide from 27th September.

It is for the first time in 28 years since the original line-up, consisting of emblematical front man Jaz Coleman, guitarist Geordie Walker, bassist Youth and drummer Paul Ferguson, have worked together on a record: “We have survived equipment being hi-jacked, tapes being withheld, nervous breakdowns, family bereavements, blood lettings, and a host of other challenges of Biblical proportions,” comments Youth. “But we are now at the final ascent, and I have to say it’s one of the greatest albums I have ever had the privilege to be involved with… EVER! I have been living and breathing it for over four months now, and I’m still jaw-droopingly amazed at its power & beauty…”

Jaz Coleman illustrates “the apocalypse, geopolitics, population, societal control and why random acts of kindness, loving life, spending time with people and being concerned with other people’s problems other than your own, are the only things that matter” as being the main themes present on their 13^th studio record.

“Absolute Dissent” will be released in various formats, including double colored vinyl and a deluxe 2 CD package; the latter will feature a bonus disc showcasing Killing Joke cover versions from bands such as Metallica, Helmet, and Spinefarm label mates’ Dead By April, whose version of all-time hit, “Love Like Blood“, was recently released as a digital single.

Prior to the album release, Killing Joke have also launched a provocative EP, titled “In Excelsis”, on June 21^st, via the very same Spinefarm Records UK. The EP is meant for the more anxious fans and includes 3 tracks, which will be available on the up-coming record: “In Excelsis” (you can download it in .mp3 format straight from the official site), “Endgame” and “Ghost Of Ladbroke Grove”.

As the wind sings its melody, driving the autumn leaves off the trees, a new musical blockbuster event is coming for you at the Capitol Hannover. In tune with the season, the AUTUMN BALL FESTIVAL 2010 on 22. October 2010 is literally up to blow your mind with the perfect line-up for a stormy autumn night:

Together with the electro-rockers OOMPH! from Wolfsburg, who signed in as headliners, nobody less than the “devil” himself announced his appearance, just about to twist around the audience with his irresistible TANZWUT. In the eye of the storm, ideal for an evening with red wine and candle light, QNTAL are adding an extra amount of dark mediaeval romanticism, garnished with moody and mystical electronica, to warm the audience from the cold breath of the German horror-rockers DER FLUCH (The Grudge). Peter Murphy: Ninth: new album coming fall 2010

Ex-Bauhaus front man, Peter Murphy, more often known as “the Goth father”, is well ready for the release of his ninth album, appropriately yet not so imaginatively entitled “Ninth”. The new material, produced by David Baron, shall be released this fall, right after the ending of his current tour, The Dirty Dirt.

“I have had my “Ninth” album ready to go for a while now,” Peter explains. “I’ve been playing it live, alongside Bauhaus classics and my own hits, long before the official release and it’s added more stardust to the long shelf life of songs I have under my belt.” ““Ninth” is a continuation of the “Go Away White” trajectory”, said Murphy, referring to the full-length release of Bauhaus in 2008 since the quartet’s last album, 1983’s “Burning From the Inside”. “It has testosterone pouring out of it. At the same time, it’s as beautiful as any female siren.”

“I carry the flag of Bauhaus now,” Murphy adds. “Since no one else can, or wants to for that matter. I owe this to its vast audience. And what’s more, I am fully plugged into both Peter Murphy and Bauhaus: all the same artist in essence.” Peter also reveals teasing information about “Ninth”, crediting his present inspiration to his “roots as a seminal culture changer”.

Besides his solid musical career, Murphy achieved success on screen as well, starring in the teen vampire flick, ‘Eclipse’, the latest of the ‘Twilight’ series, as well as in ‘The Hunger’ in 1983, along with David Bowie, Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon.

Slave Republic: Electric One: album review

SLAVE REPUBLIC (Germany) is Alec Fu (vocals, guitar) and Alex Alice (bass, keyboards). The band recently signed with Accession Records, a label that works with artists such as Diary of Dreams, Assemblage 23, Diorama, Painbastard or Panzer AG.

The duo captures our attention through its very felicitous synthpop style, well on the same line that made you love Duran Duran, IAMX or Diorama.

The material released on March 12 — “Electric One”, has in store all the necessary elements of a sensitive and harmonious album: 11 tracks, on the one hand soothing and gloomy ballads, meanwhile, on the other hand, exciting rhythms and electric beats, perfect for a clubbing night. Add to that a bonus of 2 feverish remixes by Haujobb and Olaf Wollschläger.

“Electric One” starts at full tilt with “The Driver”, a track that will transport you in the atmosphere of the 80’s, when Depeche Mode released their first albums. Further, “Hadron Collider” guarantees the listeners’ time travel, flowing in a much more alert way. The vibe of the alien beeps that give rhythm to the entire composition, will take you to a science fiction realm.

“Number Three” comes, obviously, third, and has an absolutely haunting rhythm, with acute New Wave influences. You simply cannot keep it straight while listening to it! Also, on this track, Lea Schäfer’s voice blends perfectly with that of Alec Fu – and the perspective of exploring the artistic value of female voices remains an option for future albums. Keep your ears pricked for “My Maker”, where indie guitars make their presence felt and fill up perfectly the electro sound and Alec Fu’s distinct voice.

“Electric”, title also featured in the album’s name, has a rejuvenating optimism and dynamic tone and it is here that the album climaxes, up until the ballad “Less Of Me” takes the floor. This latter track stands witness for the behavior of lovers who make unrequited confessions: “Would you think any less of me / If I told you that I loved you / Would you think any less of me/ If I told you that I cared”. Says Alec, this song is dedicated to all his ex-girlfriends.

“Truth Or Dare” is kindred in melancholy with the previous track, while on “Choking/Drowning” the guitar and bass make their presence felt best, rendering it the most aggressive song of this album. If you feel the need of a break, you are not going to get it that soon, since “Minimum Regret” with its chorus: “Sweat, Burn, Feel the tension/ Max pleasure, minimum regret”, encourages us to remain on the dance floor.

“Destiny” restores the meditative atmosphere of previous tracks, and prepares the listener for the Outro, “(I’m Your) Slave”, a melancholic composition, very friendly with the listener’s reveries.

“Electric One” will certainly delight both romantics and euphoria chasers of the dancefloor culture, through its ballads and the strong, electric vibe of its tracks.

Urmeaza “My Maker”, unde chitarele indie isi fac simtita prezenta si completeaza perfect sunetul electro si vocea distincta a lui Fu.

“Electric”, titlu ce se regaseste si in denumirea albumului, va revitalizeaza si aduce o nota de optimism si dinamism si constituie punctul culminant, pana la intrarea in peisaj a baladei “Less Of Me”. Prin versurile “Would you think any less of me/ If I told you that I loved you/ Would you think any less of me/ If I told you that I cared”, SLAVE REPUBLIC descrie perfect comportamentul amantilor care isi fac confesiuni inegale. Conform declaratiei lui Alec, aceasta piesa este dedicata tuturor fostelor sale iubiri.

“Truth Or Dare” mentine linia melancolica precedenta, in timp ce pe “Choking/Drowning” chitara si basul isi fac simtita prezenta cel mai bine si transforma piesa in cea mai agresiva compozitie a albumului. Daca simtiti nevoia unei pauze, va mai trebui sa asteptati, pentru ca “Minimum Regret” isi face intrarea, iar synth-urile unduitoare, vocea sexy si versurile “Let’s start to dance/ Sweat, burn, feel the tension/ Max pleasure, minimum regret” va impun sa va mobilizati.

“Destiny” va introduce intr-o atmosfera meditativa si va pregateste pentru outro-ul “(I’m Your) Slave”, o compozitie apropiata de reveriile ascultatorului.

“Electric One” ii va multumi atat pe sfiosii romantici, prin baladele sale, cat si pe aceia care vor sa simta euforia unei seri in club, prin vibe-ul puternic electronic.
