US-based dark electronica band God Module return in 2011 with a great preview to their forthcoming album “Séance”, the single “Rituals” on August-09 with Metropolis Records. The single release, available both as disc and digital download, includes five versions of the title song, “Rituals”, as well as two other tracks; “Devil’s Night” (which was featured a couple of weeks before on Out of Line’s volume #7 of the “Awake the Machines” compilation) and “Remember”. The single’s body includes great renditions by Distorted Memory, Modulate, White Ring, iVardensphere, and Mordacious.
“Rituals” is perky, frisky and an instant dancefloor success. The content-rich lyrics, depicting an encounter between human and death, make use of good stuff, monsters and dragons, and illustrate the darkness entailed by the alert, unexpected tempo of the track. The various remixes add flavor to the track, and make it a safe and sound choice for further rework. iVardensphere’s mix is one notable presence on the single release, and to the same extent, but to different effect is the Distorted Memory mix. “Devil’s Night” is bound to make it on different compilations because of its versatile and easy-going nature, while “Remember” is a reminder of what God Module can, and still do – have done so, to be more precise, since their 1999 debut.
God Module are touring this coming fall with Imperative Reaction and System Syn. Read more about the Triptych tour here.
